Job description

The IT Training Specialist plays a key role in supporting organizational technology initiatives by partnering with leadership and external technology providers. Core responsibilities include designing, implementing, and delivering training programs for all employees; creating written and digital training materials; assisting with website content updates; supporting the evaluation and testing of new technologies—including AI tools; and helping the organization stay current with evolving legal and business technologies.

This position delivers instructor‑led training for new hires, facilitates application training through classroom, e‑learning, and virtual modalities, and develops instructional content in various formats, including video, interactive modules, and AI‑enhanced learning solutions. The specialist also explores innovative training methods to improve engagement and knowledge retention.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Develop and implement training programs for employees and produce supporting written and electronic materials.
  • Conduct instructor‑led, virtual, and recorded training sessions in a clear, organized, and effective manner.
  • Deliver application training across classroom, e‑learning, and remote platforms.
  • Coordinate training schedules and ensure programs are well‑structured, comprehensive, and educationally sound.
  • Assess evolving technology training needs and work with leadership to design effective programs and recommend long‑term strategies.
  • Create engaging learning experiences using multimedia, AI tools, and diverse instructional formats.
  • Author and maintain reference materials that align with team documentation standards.
  • Design and develop e‑learning modules, including scripts and storyboards.
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing administration of a Learning Management System.
  • Develop and deliver orientation training on Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and other enterprise applications in partnership with HR.
  • Manage the design, content updates, organization, and training for the organization’s intranet, ensuring accuracy and usability.
  • Develop test plans and perform technology testing in collaboration with leadership and department teams.
  • Assist with evaluating, testing, and deploying emerging technologies, including AI‑powered tools and productivity platforms.
  • Support software rollouts—including ERP platforms—through training, documentation, and user adoption initiatives.
  • Monitor trends in legal and business technology, participate in relevant industry organizations, and collaborate with leadership and vendors to enhance technology utilization.
  • Provide general technical support, including website content updates, newsletter distribution assistance, and application help‑desk support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of software instruction, technical writing, and training delivery.
  • Bachelor’s degree and three or more years of experience in software training—preferably within a professional services or multi‑office environment.
  • Experience delivering classroom‑based training is required.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical users clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • High attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with standard business software, including:
    • Microsoft Windows
    • Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
    • Document management systems (e.g., iManage or similar)
    • PDF editing tools
    • Redlining/compare tools
    • Metadata cleaning tools
    • Legal document automation tools
  • Familiarity with litigation e‑filing processes (preferred).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and present information in a user‑friendly format.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, proofreading accuracy, and reliability.
  • Experience with VoIP phone systems, ERP systems, AI‑powered tools, or design/content tools (e.g., Photoshop, Snagit) is highly desirable.
  • Interest in emerging technology trends and supporting user adoption initiatives is strongly valued.
  • Ability to foster a positive, constructive learning environment that supports professional development.
