Job summary

Lancaster County Government seeks an IT Technician I to deliver first- and second-level support to County employees. You will troubleshoot hardware/software issues remotely and deskside, manage tickets, and escalate to senior staff as needed.

Responsibilities include maintaining end-user communications, assisting with technology deployments, and keeping detailed documentation. A high school diploma or GED is required; a technical degree is preferred and valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED, technical degree preferred; one to two years of experience in a helpdesk or technical support environment highly desired.
• Equivalent combination of education and professional experience may be substituted.
• Excellent oral, written and customer service skills.
• Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide first- and second-level technical support to County employees.
• Manage assigned service requests, incidents, and project tasks through resolution or escalation.
• Perform remote and deskside support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, scanners, peripherals and County-standard software.
• Maintain accurate support documentation and inventory of desktop hardware and software.
• Escalate to senior IT personnel for root cause determination when needed.
• Install and maintain phone and data cabling infrastructure; patch panels, cabling and data jacks.
