Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an Associate Engineer to provide day-to-day first-level technical support for the Fulfillment Operation Center and Server Room/Data Center. You will install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and servers, and respond to issues with escalations as needed.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, applying IT standards, communicating with IT teams and end users, and participating in server room projects to support business needs.

Qualifications

• Technical Institute/Associate Degree or 3-5 years of formal training/work experience.
• General working knowledge of PC/LAN hardware, operating systems, networks, and data centers.
• Working aptitude for logical thinking and level-one problem solving.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based, customer-service-oriented environment.
• Ability to lead local level-one projects with supervision.
• Ability to engage in higher-complexity issues as needed.
• Ability to work independently to staff shifts when needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs of materials, tools, or IT-related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist the Associate Engineer with day-to-day first-level technical support for the Fulfillment Operation Center and Server Room/Data Center.
• Provide level-one technical support for end users and Server Room/Data Center issues.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents promptly with minimal customer disruption.
• Follow IT operational standards for reporting, monitoring, troubleshooting, and documenting assigned issues.
• Communicate with IT teams, vendors, and end users to resolve local issues.
• Assist with escalations to home-office/offshore IT teams and vendors.
• Perform preventative maintenance on IT equipment.
• Apply working knowledge of the fulfillment environment, critical applications, sorters, scanners, and supporting infrastructure.
• Participate in installations, system upgrades, migrations, decommissions, and other business/server room/data center projects.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and servers.
• Perform bare-metal desktop/laptop builds and software installations.
• Interact with business customers and respond to changing environments and business needs.
