Job summary

Newport Aquarium is seeking a dedicated IT Support Technician to diagnose hardware and software problems, troubleshoot AV systems, and perform routine maintenance. You will relay issues to vendors and the Senior IT Technician, document incidents in Help Desk software, and support all departments across the Aquarium.

The role requires basic networking, experience with sound and lighting, and proficiency with Microsoft 365 and POS applications.

Qualifications

• PC Support experience.
• MS Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Basic electronic skills.
• Ability to work with little or no direct supervision.
• Ability to work with other departments.
• Experience with sound and lighting equipment.
• Willingness to take direction and coaching from experienced staff.
• Must read, write, and speak English.
• Team player in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced guest-facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose IT hardware and software problems.
• Troubleshoot and support AV systems.
• Perform routine IT maintenance.
• Relay problems to vendor support and Senior IT Technician.
• Track and document issues in Help Desk software.
• Provide support to all Aquarium departments.
• Maintain AV equipment and perform repairs.
• Support end-users on MS 365, 3rd party apps, and POS systems.
