Job summary

Electronic Power Design, Inc. is seeking an IT Technician with 2–3+ years of desktop and technical support. You will diagnose and resolve Windows, hardware, networking, and software issues across office, engineering, and manufacturing environments.

The role includes Active Directory, Windows Server, and print services support, plus ongoing IT projects and after-hours work as needed. Ideal candidates will have strong communication, the ability to work independently, and familiarity with AutoCAD,

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of hands-on desktop support or IT technical support experience.
• Strong Windows desktop troubleshooting and PC hardware diagnostic, repair, deployment, and imaging skills.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, role-based access controls, Windows Server environments, network shares, permissions, and print services.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, wired and wireless networking, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience using Windows command-line utilities and built-in diagnostic tools; PowerShell experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of structured Ethernet cabling and physical network troubleshooting.
• Understanding of endpoint security, phishing, malware indicators, suspicious system behavior, and appropriate security escalation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide professional support to both technical and nontechnical users.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of problems, research unfamiliar issues, prioritize effectively, and recognize when escalation is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person, telephone, and remote technical support for Windows desktops, laptops, peripherals, and approved business applications.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating-system, user-profile, driver, service, and connectivity issues.
• Use Windows diagnostic tools, Device Manager, command-line utilities, logs, and other technical resources to identify and resolve problems.
• Install, configure, deploy, refresh, repair, and decommission desktop and laptop computers.
• Troubleshoot and replace PC hardware, including memory, storage devices, docks, monitors, and peripherals.
• Support BIOS/UEFI settings, firmware, boot configuration, and related hardware functions.
• Support Active Directory users, computers, group membership, account access, and permissions within established role-based access policies.
• Troubleshoot TCP/IP connectivity, DNS, DHCP, gateways, VLANs, VPN connections, Remote Desktop, and wired and wireless networking.
• Support network printers, scanners, industrial label printers, and Windows print-server environments.
• Support Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD installations, ERP client software, and other approved business applications.
• Provide basic support for mobile devices, VoIP endpoints, conference-room technology, displays, cameras, microphones, and related equipment.
• Maintain accurate IT asset records, equipment assignments, spare-parts inventory, and organized equipment storage areas.
• Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including workstation preparation, deployment, equipment recovery, and asset updates.
• Participate in IT projects, system deployments, maintenance activities, and technology improvement initiatives.
• Prioritize support requests based on urgency and business impact and follow assigned issues through resolution.
• Create clear ticket notes and technical documentation while communicating professionally with technical and nontechnical employees.
• Participate in occasional after-hours maintenance, deployments, or support when business needs require it.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and hands-onIT Technicianto provide technical support across EPD's office, engineering, and manufacturing environments. This is not an entry-level position; the ideal candidate brings at least 2–3 years of desktop and technical support experience and is comfortable independently troubleshooting Windows systems, hardware, software, networking, printers, business applications, and production-floor technology. The IT Technician will take ownership of support issues from diagnosis through resolution while collaborating with the IT team, supporting employees professionally, maintaining IT equipment and infrastructure, and escalating complex issues when appropriate.

What You'll Do Desktop & Technical Support

Infrastructure & Manufacturing Support

• Support technology used throughout EPD's manufacturing and production environments.
• Perform physical network troubleshooting, including tracing network drops, identifying patch-panel and switch ports, and testing cabling.
• Pull, terminate, label, and test Ethernet cabling using appropriate structured-cabling practices.
• Install and replace wireless access points, cameras, and other low-voltage IT equipment as required.
• Use cable testers, tone/probe equipment, termination tools, hand tools, and other diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.

IT Operations & Customer Support

• Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial technology environments.
• Experience with structured cabling, wireless access points, cameras, and low-voltage IT equipment.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Office, Teams, AutoCAD, ERP applications, and related business systems.
• Demonstrated technical ability and practical hands‑on experience may be considered in lieu of formal education or certifications.
