Job summary

Norman City Clerk is seeking an IT Support Specialist to maintain and troubleshoot computer systems for city facilities. The role focuses on end-user support, hardware and software installations, and network device maintenance in a Windows enterprise environment.

The position requires an associate degree in a computer-related field and three years of experience in systems technical support; certifications such as A+ or Network+ are desirable along with a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a computer-related field and three years of experience in systems technical support, or equivalent education/experience.
• Desirable: Computer A+ and Network+ certifications; valid Oklahoma driver’s license and clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Installs computer hardware and software as needed, including network cards, disks, memory, and processors.
• Evaluates and resolves computer hardware and software problems.
• Provides technical support to computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and other network devices.
• Assists system administrators with LAN hardware/software troubleshooting and support.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance and after-hours Tier I support on a rotational basis.
