We are seeking an IT Systems & Network Specialist to join our IT team and provide hands‑on technical support across our facilities. This position is ideal for an IT professional with approximately 2–3 years of experience who enjoys solving problems, supporting end users, and working with both network and systems infrastructure.
The IT Systems & Network Specialist will provide front‑line technical support while also assisting with the administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of our network, workstations, wireless infrastructure, and other technology systems. This is a hands‑on role with an opportunity to develop broader skills in systems and network administration.
The successful candidate will be customer‑focused, technically curious, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with other members of the IT team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely and professional technical support to employees through helpdesk tickets, phone calls, and direct support.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, workstation, connectivity, and user‑access issues.
- Install, configure, deploy, and maintain computers, laptops, peripherals, and other end‑user devices.
- Assist users with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, email, and other business applications.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend solutions to improve reliability and the user experience.
Network & Systems Support
- Support and maintain corporate network switches, wireless infrastructure, and related equipment.
- Assist with the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of LAN/WAN connectivity across multiple company locations.
- Support LAN routing and switching, including VLANs, IP addressing, and subnetting.
- Assist in troubleshooting network connectivity, backbone infrastructure, and performance issues to minimize downtime.
- Assist with Active Directory/LDAP user and group administration.
- Assist with the administration and maintenance of corporate email systems.
- Follow established cybersecurity practices and help maintain secure systems and user environments.
- Manage IT hardware throughout its lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, inventory, maintenance, and replacement.
- Maintain accurate hardware and software inventory records and IT documentation.
- Assist with company printers and related services.
- Support corporate phone systems, including VoIP/PBX and cellular services.
- Work with third‑party vendors and service providers to troubleshoot issues and coordinate services.
General IT Support
- Participate in IT projects, system upgrades, deployments, and other technology initiatives.
- Maintain current technical documentation, procedures, and system information.
- Participate in a rotating departmental on‑call schedule.
- Perform other IT‑related duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- 3–4 years of relevant hands‑on IT experience.
- Experience providing end‑user technical support and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Working knowledge of LAN/WAN networking and network troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with VLANs, IP addressing, and subnetting.
- Experience with Active Directory/LDAP user and group administration.
- Strong problem‑solving and customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical employees.
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests and work independently when necessary.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field.
- Microsoft or Cisco certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSA, MCSE, or equivalent.
- Experience supporting wireless network infrastructure.
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange or comparable email platforms.
- Experience with VoIP/PBX systems.
- Experience working with IT vendors and external service providers.
- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting technology across multiple facilities or locations.
