Job summary

Rune is hiring its first dedicated IT Systems Administrator in Mountain View, CA to own IT end-to-end—from device provisioning and security to the internal software stack.

This is a hands-on, high-trust role; you should have led IT before and be able to make sound independent judgments as we scale and eventually grow an IT team.

You will implement MDM, manage our SaaS stack, and support security, compliance, and cross‑platform needs (macOS and Windows).

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of hands-on IT support or systems administration experience.
• Experience owning IT (or a substantial part) at a company without a senior IT person.
• Hands-on experience with MDM platforms and device security features.
• Experience managing SaaS tools and vendor relationships, including cost oversight.
• Comfortable working across macOS and Windows environments.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage device provisioning for new hires (laptops, accounts, access).
• Implement MDM with remote wipe and endpoint security policies.
• Own SaaS stack: procurement, licensing, access management, and cost oversight.
• Build onboarding/offboarding runbooks and self-service documentation.
