Job summary

Talent Groups is seeking an IT Support professional to bridge standard IT helpdesk duties with hands-on lab systems support in a biotech environment. You will handle end-user support, account management, and lab software configurations.

The role requires 2+ years in IT support, familiarity with lab instrumentation, and strong knowledge of AD and M365 within a research setting. On-site contribution in Lexington, MA is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or IT with 4+ years of IT experience, or 10 years as IT administrator.
• 2+ years IT support experience, preferably in biotech, pharma, or research environments.
• Familiarity with lab instrumentation and scientific software.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 and 2 end-user support for Windows, macOS, and mobile devices.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access via Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
• Support installation and configuration of lab software (LIMS, ELN, instrument software).
• Troubleshoot network, VPN, hardware and software issues.
• Maintain IT assets including laptops, desktops, printers, and AV equipment.
• Document support requests and resolutions in Jira or ServiceNow.
• Provide Virtual Infrastructure Support Administration and Database Administration.

This role bridges traditional IT support with hands-on assistance in laboratory systems, ensuring smooth operation of scientific workflows and digital infrastructure.

• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for end-users (Windows, macOS, mobile devices).
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls via Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and other enterprise systems.
• Support installation and configuration of lab-specific software (e.g., LIMS, ELN, instrument control software).
• Support network connectivity, VPN access, and troubleshooting of hardware/software issues.
• Maintain and deploy IT assets including laptops, desktops, printers, and AV equipment.
• Document support requests and resolutions in the IT ticketing system (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow).
