The University of New Mexico's IT department seeks an independent, tech-focused IT Support Tech 3 to support Molecular Genetics & Microbiology and AIM CoBRE Center Research. The Department of Molecular Genetics & Microbiology along with the AIM Center is seeking an independent and technology focused individual to fill the IT Support Tech 3 position that will bring experience and skills to the research area that will benefit both the department and the AIM CoBRE Center Research.
This individual will perform complex problem solving and assistance on nonstandard software and hardware systems using Smartsheet, Sharepoint, and vendor software/hardware. Preferred experience with server architecture and data management. The role will oversee and perform the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computers, workstations and other related equipment and devices. The position will also provide assistance and guidance in the implementation of new technologies. Responsibilities include maintaining and inputting applicable records such as administrative data, tracking inventory levels of equipment and materials, user administration, and may include inputting, reconciling, and auditing billing information from the record‑keeping system. Strong problem‑solving skills are required to troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware failures and conflicts.
