Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a desktop support technician to troubleshoot PC and printer hardware, install software, and lead large projects. The role requires strong customer service and the ability to explain technical issues to nontechnical staff.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Information Systems or related field with 3 years of experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills and professional telephone manner.
• Ability to explain technical issues to nontechnical staff.
• Experience with HP and Zebra printers.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for troubleshooting PC & Printer hardware and Windows OS.
• Install desktop hardware/software and printers; keep documentation updated.
• Lead large software install or move projects.
• Manage tickets, prioritize issues, and ensure timely resolution.
• Be available for after-hours on-call.
