Job summary

Mercer Engineering Research Center (MERC), part of Mercer University, seeks a Staff IT Specialist to support the Network Systems Directorate and Operations Team in Warner Robins, GA. You will resolve desktop hardware/software issues, install workstations, coordinate with vendors, and maintain accurate support records.

US Citizenship and the ability to obtain DoD security clearance are required. A related technical degree or equivalent experience is expected for this position.

Qualifications

Supports desktop hardware and software problems, resolving issues promptly.
Experience with Windows, Office, email clients, and TCP/IP networking.
Ability to install, repair and troubleshoot hardware and software.
Strong written and oral communication, service-oriented approach.
Reading technical manuals and OEM guides as needed.

Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance for software/hardware operations.
Receive and respond to calls, emails, and work orders for desktop problems.
Set up equipment and install OS/software for new staff.
Install, configure, test, and maintain end-user workstations and peripherals.
Document daily support requests and actions; coordinate with vendors as needed.
