Job description

Our growing organization seeks a dedicated and versatile IT Support Specialist to oversee our technology infrastructure and provide comprehensive support services for the entire team. The ideal candidate will serve as the cornerstone of our IT operations, ensuring seamless functionality across all systems while delivering exceptional technical assistance to all team members.

We are looking for someone who loves working with computers and helping others do so as well. If you don’t know the answer, you’ll use Stack Overflow, Reddit, or whatever source you can find, until the problem is resolved.

Key Responsibilities
System Administration and Management- Manage and maintain Windows, MacOS, and Android operating systems across the organization- Administer and optimize Google Workspace and Microsoft Office productivity suites- Configure and manage Microsoft IntraID (Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD) for secure identity and access management- Implement and maintain VPN solutions for secure remote access- Oversee Jira implementation and provide technical support for project management needsTechnical Support and Troubleshooting- Serve as primary point of contact for all IT-related inquiries and issues- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems efficiently- Provide responsive support to minimize disruption to business operations- Document common issues and solutions in an accessible knowledge baseSoftware and Hardware Management- Deploy and update software across organizational systems- Manage user accounts and access permissions- Maintain inventory of all technology assets- Evaluate and recommend new hardware and software solutions- Coordinate with vendors for procurement and support servicesSecurity- Implement and enforce IT security policies and best practices- Assist with regular security audits and vulnerability assessments- Assist with educating staff about data protection and security awareness- Help ensure compliance with relevant security regulations and standardsDocumentation and Knowledge Management- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of IT infrastructure- Create and update policies and procedures for technology use- Build and maintain an accessible knowledge base for the organization- Document configurations, system settings, and recovery proceduresBackup and Disaster Recovery- Implement and manage backup solutions for organizational data- Develop and test disaster recovery protocols- Ensure business continuity in case of system failures- Perform regular data restoration tests to verify backup integrityTraining and Onboarding- Assist with onboarding new team members for all technology systems- Ensure appropriate system access for all staff members- Enhance technological proficiency across the organizationInfrastructure Improvement- Stay current with evolving technologies and security practices- Recommend and implement improvements to IT infrastructure- Balance innovation with reliability and cost-effectiveness- Proactively identify potential issues before they impact operations

This role will also assist our Customer Support team when the queue gets too large – learning all about our products, how they work, and how to support them.

- Assisting customers with technical issues and questions related to our products- Utilizing advanced troubleshooting techniques to find root causes and assist the Engineering team- Documenting all customer communications and providing regular updates to customers- Providing clear and detailed bug reports to the Engineering team- Providing clear and detailed enhancement requests to the Product team- Following documented processes to ensure quality and efficient customer service- Learning new product features and adapting to product changes on a regular basis- Coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to find solutions for our customers
Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Certification- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field nice to have but not required- Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+- Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or equivalent- Google Workspace Administrator certification desirableExperience- 4-7 years of experience in IT support roles with increasing responsibility- Demonstrated proficiency in managing and troubleshooting enterprise IT systems- Experience supporting organizations of similar size (Up to 100 users all remote)Technical Skills- Comprehensive knowledge of Windows, MacOS, and Android operating systems- Proficiency in administering Google Workspace and Microsoft Office productivity suites- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft IntraID (Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD)- Experience configuring and maintaining VPN solutions- Familiarity with Jira administration and support- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices- Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning- Experience using APIs- Basic understanding of SQL queriesSoft Skills- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal- Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible language- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking- Time management and organizational abilities- Customer service orientation with patience and empathy- Self-motivation and ability to work independently- Flexibility to adapt to changing technological landscapes- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development- Proactive mindset for identifying and addressing potential issues
