Job summary

Dean Warehouse Services is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide timely technical assistance across all locations. You will troubleshoot hardware, software, Windows 11 workstations, printers, and the WMS Synapse platform, while installing, configuring, and maintaining computers and peripherals.

You will also document configurations and support activities, and help maintain network infrastructure and security.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline.
  • 2-4 years of IT support experience.
  • Experience with Windows 11 and Microsoft 365.
  • Basic Active Directory knowledge.
  • Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving ability.
  • Preferred qualifications include WMS experience, RF scanner experience, wireless access point exposure, warehouse or distribution IT experience, and relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely technical assistance to internal users by phone, email, remote support, or in person across all locations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving hardware, software, Windows 11 workstations, Microsoft 365, printers, peripherals, and the WMS Synapse platform.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and support computers, software applications, and peripheral devices.
  • Carry out routine IT maintenance, including software updates, workstation setup, and backup-related tasks.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for hardware, software, user accounts, configurations, and support activity.
  • Support the administration and upkeep of network infrastructure such as switches, firewalls, VPN, wireless access points, and related equipment.
  • Monitor network connectivity and performance and resolve wired and wireless network issues.
  • Follow established security practices and help implement protections for systems and data.
  • Create and maintain user accounts and assist with password resets, access permissions, and other basic account administration.
  • Guide and train users on IT systems, applications, and related processes.
  • Respond to user requests professionally and prioritize issues based on business impact and urgency.
  • Develop and maintain user-facing documentation and technical procedures when needed.
  • Diagnose technical problems using a structured, analytical approach and a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Identify root causes and implement solutions that reduce repeat issues.
  • Escalate complex or specialized issues when needed while retaining ownership and clear communication through resolution.
  • Collaborate with IT Director and team members on system implementations, upgrades, projects, and continuous improvement efforts.

In this role, you will support internal users and help ensure the reliability, availability, and effective operation of our IT systems across multiple locations. You will work under our Information Technology Director across a broad range of technology functions and systems.
