Job summary

The University of Houston invites applications for a senior IT leader who directs the Information Technology Support unit within the Office of the Dean. The role oversees training, web information services, technical support, and documentation to support scholarly and academic missions.

Candidates should have 5+ years in IT security/risk management, HIPAA-compliant environments, and relevant cybersecurity certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience supporting healthcare IT operations.
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in information security, IT risk management, compliance, vulnerability management, or security operations.
• CISSP, CISM, CCSP, GSLC, CASP+, or equivalent advanced cybersecurity certification.
• Experience administering Active Directory, Group Policy, MECM, Intune, Jamf Pro, Zendesk, Hyper-V.
• All positions at the University require criminal history checks.

Responsibilities

• Directs Information Technology support activities and operations in training, web information services, technical support, and documentation.
• Collaborates with college faculty to implement IT support services in scholarly and academic missions.
• Recommends and implements policies and best practices and assists in IT budget creation and maintenance.
• Promotes technology integration into teaching and research via demonstrations, training and maintenance of hardware/software.
• Oversees computing services provision to students via labs, documentation, and tech support.
• Coordinates training, support and documentation for technology applications used by staff.
• Represents the college on committees, university-wide task forces, and national conferences.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.
