University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority seeks a Director of CyberSecurity - Engineering, Operations and Incident Response to lead a team in evaluating, designing, deploying, and supporting advanced information security solutions across UW Health’s IT environment.

The role acts as a technical leader, guiding best practices and ensuring alignment with security frameworks while collaborating with infrastructure teams, vendors and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
• Master's degree in IS Security, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration preferred.
• Demonstrated success across the systems development or operational life cycle.
• Experience managing security infrastructure (firewalls, IPS, WAFs, SIEM, log management).
• Experience leading incident response activities.
• 10+ years leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a capable team in evaluation, design architecture, deployment and support of cybersecurity solutions.
• Act as a technical leader and point of escalation to provide direction and evangelize best practices.
• Develop technologies and strategies aligned with information security frameworks.
• Stay current on security trends, incident response, and potential impact to IT environment.
• Protect assets with new security strategies and monitoring controls.
• Cultivate relationships with infrastructure teams, engineers, vendors and leadership.
• Align technical information security strategy with business goals and processes.
