Job summary

GMRE is seeking an IT Specialist Intern (Tier 1) to support the Enterprise Systems Team at GMRE HQ in South Ogden, UT. The role involves entry-level technical support, device deployment, asset tracking, and onboarding/offboarding assistance in a structured IT environment.

The 180-day internship includes defined checkpoints at 30, 60, and 90 days, with evaluation at 90 days to determine continuation. Mentorship and guided tasks ensure hands-on experience in enterprise IT operations.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in IT, CS, cybersecurity or related field.
• Basic familiarity with Windows OS and Microsoft 365 apps.
• Exposure to computer troubleshooting, hardware installation, or technical support through coursework or projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide entry-level Tier 1 technical support for hardware, software, OS, and network devices onsite and remote.
• Assist with installing, configuring, and deploying computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot common hardware/software issues and escalate complex problems.
• Assist with imaging, endpoint configuration, and secure device deployment.
• Support employee onboarding and offboarding activities and ticket documentation.
• Maintain IT asset inventory records and documentation.
