Job summary

GMRE, a small veteran‑owned company, is seeking an IT Specialist Intern (Tier 1) to join the Enterprise Systems Team at GMRE HQ in South Ogden, UT. The role offers hands-on experience supporting end-user devices, laptops, printers, and network‑connected equipment under supervision.

The internship runs for 180 days with milestones at 30, 60, and 90 days, including a 90-day evaluation to determine continuation.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed an associate or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent training may be considered.
• Basic familiarity with Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and computer hardware.
• Exposure to IT support, troubleshooting, or hands-on IT experience through coursework or projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide entry-level Tier 1 IT support for hardware, software, OS, and network-connected devices (onsite and remote).
• Assist with installing and configuring computer hardware, software, OS, printers, scanners, and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot common technical issues and escalate complex problems as needed.
• Maintain IT asset inventory records and equipment assignments.
• Assist with onboarding/offboarding tasks and workstation setup for employees.
• Document support requests, steps taken, resolutions, and escalations in the ticketing system.
