Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an IT helpdesk intern to learn and assist in deploying, supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting computers and devices within the Caregiver Field Services / Client Field Services teams in the DTS department. The role operates in an office setting with a Monday–Friday daytime schedule.

The intern will gain exposure to ITIL ticketing, security policy implementations, and project support while building foundational knowledge in IT support and customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong research, organizational and analytical skills as well as the ability to teach users.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems in a graceful and sensitive manner.
• Ability to successfully function in a fast paced, service-oriented environment.
• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications.
• Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn to resolve minor computer issues under supervision.
• Document notes and resolution to issues in ITIL ticketing system.
• Update support staff on status of projects, incidents, service requests.
• Respond to messages according to priority schedule.
• Support new and existing systems under guidance of team members.
• Implement enterprise defined security policies (hardware and software).
• Identify solutions and perform tasks to accomplish team goals.
• Gain knowledge of the department’s / facility’s functions.
• Participate in a variety of projects supporting the department / facility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
