Job summary

Safe Fleet in St. Louis is seeking an IT Support Intern to gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise technology. You will troubleshoot user issues, configure hardware, and assist with account administration in a collaborative office environment.

You will work alongside experienced IT professionals, handling desktop installations, software updates, and everyday IT operations while developing practical skills in Windows environments, cybersecurity practices, and incident documentation.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking concepts
  • Experience with Active Directory, ticketing systems, remote support tools, or endpoint management tools preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and common business applications
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Demonstrates professionalism, initiative, and a strong customer-service mindset
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and systems

Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup, configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other hardware
  • Provide technical support to employees for hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Support user account management, password resets, and access permissions
  • Help maintain inventory of IT equipment and software licenses
  • Assist with installation, updates, and maintenance of operating systems and applications
  • Support basic system administration tasks in Windows and cloud-based environments
  • Participate in onboarding and offboarding activities, including workstation setup and account provisioning
  • Document technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and support tickets
  • Escalate unresolved technical issues to appropriate IT staff and assist with follow-through
  • Assist with cybersecurity best practices, system patching, and antivirus maintenance
  • Assist with conference room technology, audiovisual systems, and meeting support
  • Collaborate with IT staff on projects, upgrades, and process improvements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Job Summary

The IT Support Intern will gain meaningful, hands-on experience supporting the technology that keeps our teams connected and productive. In this role, you will work alongside experienced IT professionals to troubleshoot user issues, set up and maintain hardware, support account and system administration tasks, and contribute to day-to-day IT operations. This internship is a great opportunity for a curious, service-minded student or recent graduate to build practical technical skills, learn how enterprise IT support operates, and make a visible impact in a collaborative office environment.
