Job summary

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Information Technology to join the IT Bureau leadership. Working with the Director and agency leaders, this role shapes IT strategy, directs major technology initiatives, and identifies cost-effective solutions to support evolving agency needs.

Qualifications

Six (6) years' experience in information technology that includes customer service.
Three (3) years' supervisory experience.
Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
Consideration for this position requires a credit check.

Responsibilities

Lead IT Bureau planning and budgeting, forecasting organizational needs, fostering innovation and planning large projects.
Benchmarks, analyzes, reports on IT infrastructure and systems; recommends improvements.
Develops IT policies, procedures, and standards including security, disaster recovery, and procurement.
Negotiates vendor and consultant contracts; oversees deployment, maintenance, and support of IT systems.
Oversee end-user services and help desk support; define business and systems requirements for new technology.
