The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office seeks an experienced and strategic Assistant Director of Information Technology to join the leadership team of our IT Bureau. Working closely with the Director, IT leadership, agency leaders, and stakeholders, this role shapes IT strategy, directs major initiatives, and identifies cost-effective solutions that support the agency.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with people leadership, lead teams and complex projects, manage budgets

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field.
• Six years in IT including customer service.
• Three years supervisory experience.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license.
• Consideration for this position requires a credit check.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is seeking an experienced and strategic Assistant Director of Information Technology to join the leadership team of our Information Technology Bureau. Working closely with the Director of Information Technology, IT leadership, agency leaders, and key stakeholders, this position helps shape IT strategy, directs operational activities, leads major technology initiatives, and identifies innovative, cost-effective solutions that support the evolving needs of the agency.

The ideal candidate is an accomplished IT leader who combines strong technical expertise with strategic thinking and effective people leadership. They have experience leading teams and complex technology initiatives, managing competing organizational priorities, and translating technical needs into practical solutions. The successful candidate will provide leadership in areas including IT infrastructure and services, major projects, budgeting and purchasing, vendor and consultant relationships, and the development of IT policies, procedures, standards, and best practices. They will also mentor and develop staff, foster innovation, and help ensure the Bureau is positioned to meet current and future technology needs.
