Job summary

Watonwan County's Information Technology Department seeks an IT Support Technician to handle telecom, computer systems, networking and information services. You will install and maintain PCs, printers, and network devices, and upgrade hardware to use new software.

You will assist staff, troubleshoot issues, support website administration, keep asset records, and follow safety rules. On-call weekend/evening availability may be required to respond to emergency needs at the Law Enforcement Center.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree or two years of computer support and maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance methods and general PC repair.
• General knowledge of network security measures.
• Ability to provide on-call assistance during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain PCs, monitors, printers, and network switches.
• Support County staff by answering technology questions and troubleshooting hardware/software.
• Assist with telecommunications and website administration.
• Maintain records of inspections, licenses, and asset inventory.
• Follow safety rules and assist with accident prevention in day-to-day duties.
