Job summary

NYC IT Inc. is seeking an experienced Job Administration / Production Control Technician to support a government technology environment in New York City.

The role focuses on production control, job scheduling, batch processing, and mainframe environments, including UNIX and PeopleSoft. The ideal candidate will monitor job flows, troubleshoot failures, manage dependencies, and execute test cycles in a fast-paced, secure NYC setting.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of scheduling/production control experience.
• 5+ years diagnosing and documenting critical job failures and scheduling issues.
• 5+ years hands-on experience with schedulers, batch processes, and cycle flows.
• Experience with CA Workload Automation DE, z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, UNIX, PeopleSoft, or related technologies is highly preferred.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production job flows using CA Workload Automation DE (dSeries) or a similar platform.
• Monitor jobs across z/OS, UNIX, and PeopleSoft environments.
• Troubleshoot job failures and identify root causes of production issues.
• Escalate critical failures to appropriate technical teams.
• Establish and maintain job-flow dependencies.
• Execute and troubleshoot test flows.
• Document production issues, job failures, and scheduling problems.
• Support batch processes and cycle flows.
• Perform occasional software migrations to production and test environments.

Schedule

3 consecutive days per week | 7:30 AM - 8:00 PM

The schedule includes weekends and holidays and rotates between Monday-Wednesday and Thursday-Saturday on a predetermined schedule.
