Qualifications

• Hands-on Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) experience (support, customization investigation).
• SQL Server / SQL/T-SQL knowledge; write/modify queries.
• Experience with .NET Core and Visual Studio for app/code troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in a customized environment with limited docs.
• Approximately 1–3 years in IT, software dev, database/reporting, or IT operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication, customer-service mindset, ability to work independently in a small team.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for Epicor Prophet 21 (P21), troubleshoot ERP issues in a customized environment.
• Develop, update, and troubleshoot SQL/T-SQL queries, reports, and database solutions.
• Assist with application development, testing, automation, and integrations using .NET Core and Visual Studio.
• Provide day-to-day IT support for workstations, printers, apps, Microsoft 365, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
• Support user accounts, permissions, access requests, updates, and basic server/workstation/network administration.
• Assist with cybersecurity initiatives, MFA, patching, backups, and DR activities.
• Document technical solutions, business rules, customizations, reports, workflows, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Collaborate with IT leadership to identify process improvements and implement solutions.

Job Title: Information Technology Specialist - Epicor Prophet 21 (P21)

Location: Ohio

Onsite Requirements: Hybrid - 1 day per week onsite

Compensation Range: $80,000-$115,000 annually

Introduction

Our client, an established global distributor in the food service industry, is seeking an Information Technology Specialist with hands-on Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) experience to join its lean IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically versatile professional who enjoys combining ERP support, software development, database reporting, and day-to-day IT operations.

In this role, you’ll work closely with IT leadership and business users to troubleshoot issues, support a highly customized P21 environment, improve business processes, and develop practical technical solutions. The environment offers plenty of variety and the opportunity to take ownership of problems, investigate undocumented customizations, and make a meaningful impact on business operations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for Epicor Prophet 21 (P21), investigating ERP issues, troubleshooting system behavior, and supporting business applications in a customized environment.
• Develop, update, and troubleshoot SQL/T-SQL queries, reports, and database-related solutions to support business operations and reporting needs.
• Assist with application development, testing, automation, and integrations using technologies such as .NET Core, Visual Studio, and related Microsoft tools.
• Provide day-to-day IT support for workstations, laptops, printers, handheld devices, software, Microsoft 365, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
• Support user account administration, permissions, access requests, software updates, and basic server, workstation, and network administration.
• Assist with cybersecurity initiatives, endpoint protection, multifactor authentication (MFA), patching, backups, and disaster recovery activities.
• Document technical solutions, business rules, customizations, reports, workflows, and troubleshooting procedures to improve knowledge sharing and maintainability.
• Collaborate with IT leadership and business stakeholders to identify process improvements, support technology requests, and implement solutions that improve efficiency.
