Job summary

Abacus Technology is seeking an IT Property Custodian to support asset management for Langley AFB. This full-time role focuses on IT hardware accountability and lifecycle activities, with duties spanning reconciliation, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

The candidate will use government asset-management systems and SharePoint, ensuring accurate turn-in and transfer processes while maintaining security posture and customer service standards. Clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in IT property accountability, asset management, logistics, and inventory management.
• HS diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with Windows Desktop OS and Microsoft Office is preferred.
• Familiar with asset identification, inventory, and tracking.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government vehicle authorization with Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support DEMIL and disposition activities for classified assets per NSA and DoW requirements.

Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking an IT Property Custodian to support asset management for Langley AFB. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Primary Property Custodian with IT asset-management and accountability responsibilities, including compliance with local ECO, DoW, Air Force, and other applicable requirements.
• Serve as the alternate Property Custodian when appointed and perform associated duties at the request of the Primary Property Custodian, including asset reconciliations, custodial documentation, and accountability actions.
• Ensure customer organizations comply with government, Air Force, and local policies and regulations governing IT hardware asset management.
• Prepare required documentation for equipment issues, transfers, returns, and accountability actions.
• Prepare and process turn-in documentation through the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) website.
• Perform IT hardware lifecycle-management activities in accordance with established guidance and procedures.
• Complete required local training and use approved tracking tools, databases, and SharePoint sites to manage unit IT property.
• Provide guidance to customer organization personnel on IT asset-management procedures and accountability requirements.
• Prepare Management Internal Control Toolset (MICT) communicators for government review, approval, and validation, as required.
• Identify, track, and maintain accountability of computer hardware, accessories, and peripheral devices.
• Support demilitarization (DEMIL) and disposition activities for classified assets in accordance with applicable NSA, DoW, and local security requirements.

Qualifications

3+ years experience in IT property accountability, asset management, logistics, and inventory management. HS diploma or GED. Experience with Windows Desktop Operating Systems and Microsoft Office. Familiar with computer hardware and peripheral devices for asset identification, inventory, and tracking purposes. Ability to obtain and maintain authorization to operate a government vehicle, including vehicles up to 1.5 tons. Experience using government asset-management systems, tracking databases, SharePoint sites, or related inventory-control tools preferred. Experience preparing DD Forms 1297 and 1348-1A desired. Familiar with DLA turn-in processes and MICT requirements. Able to resolve issues accurately, efficiently, and professionally. Must have strong customer service and communication skills. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
