IT Project Manager – Enterprise Technology

Chicago, IL | Long-Term Hybrid Remote Contract

Resource 1 is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager for a long-term hybrid remote contract opportunity with our client in Chicago, IL. The selected individual will support a variety of enterprise technology initiatives, coordinating project teams, vendors, resources, timelines, dependencies, and deliverables across the organization.

One of the first initiatives for the PM will involve supporting the implementation of a new enterprise integration platform. The role will work closely with technical teams and implementation partners to coordinate project activities and help drive the initiative through completion. Additional technology projects and initiatives will follow.

We are looking for a solid IT Project Manager who knows how to organize complex projects, coordinate technical resources, manage vendors, identify risks, and keep projects moving. Deep technical expertise in a specific platform is not required.

Responsibilities:

• Manage enterprise technology projects from planning through delivery and transition.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
• Coordinate internal teams, technical resources, vendors, consultants, and implementation partners.
• Facilitate project meetings, track action items, and ensure follow-up on key decisions and deliverables.
• Manage project timelines, priorities, resources, risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Work with technical teams to understand project requirements, dependencies, and potential delivery risks.
• Coordinate vendor activities, deliverables, timelines, and resource commitments.
• Identify issues and risks early and work with appropriate resources to drive them toward resolution.
• Maintain clear project documentation and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Monitor project spending, vendor invoices, resource utilization, and project run rate.
• Support testing, deployment, implementation, and transition activities as projects move toward completion.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5 years of IT Project Management experience.
• Experience managing complex technology projects or implementations.
• Strong project planning, scheduling, organization, and coordination skills.
• Experience managing multiple workstreams, priorities, dependencies, and deliverables.
• Experience coordinating technical teams, vendors, consultants, or implementation partners.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to identify risks, issues, and dependencies and drive them toward resolution.
• Ability to work effectively with technical teams without needing to be the hands‑on technical expert.
• Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Asana, or similar.
• Experience tracking project budgets, invoices, resources, or project spend.

Pluses:

• Enterprise integration or systems integration project experience.
• Boomi / Dell Boomi experience.
• Middleware, API, or data integration experience.
• Experience working with enterprise data or data warehouse initiatives.
• Experience working in an Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project environment.
• PMP certification.

This is a long-term contract opportunity through December 2027 with a hybrid remote schedule and approximately one day onsite per week. The onsite location is flexible among three Chicago‑area campuses, with occasional onsite working sessions for key meetings, workshops, and project milestones.
