Job summary

The NYS Office of Information Technology Services is seeking an Information Technology Specialist 3 in Albany to lead all phases of the System Development Life Cycle, handling both new development and maintenance in a fast-paced environment where legislative changes must be quickly implemented.

Responsibilities include Java/J2EE development, debugging, testing, and working with AIX DB2, C++, HTML/XHTML, JavaScript and .NET within a collaborative team, plus end-user support and liaison with ITS

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with CS content or equivalent IT experience.
1 year of information technology experience or 60 credit hours with CS plus 1 year IT experience.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle SDLC tasks.

Responsibilities

Codify, test and maintain Java/J2EE applications per specs and standards.
Create design specs for implementations, integrations, and enhancements.
Use programming languages, queries, and databases to troubleshoot and modify components.
Identify issues requiring technical solutions and drive improvements.
Communicate technical requirements to stakeholders and gather business needs.
Collaborate within teams and provide end-user support and issue resolution.
Utilize technologies: C++, HTML/XHTML, Java, JavaScript, Visual C#, XML, .NET.
Participate in meetings with ITS and DTF customers.
