Job summary

Scale Microgrids seeks a Systems Administrator to architect, deploy, secure, and maintain core IT and OT systems for our microgrid operations. The role focuses on identity management, security hardening, and compliance across Windows, Linux, AD/Azure AD, and virtualization.

The position reports to the Sr Manager, IT, based at our Ridgewood HQ and involves travel to project sites. Strong networking and OT/ICS experience are highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field; 5+ years in Systems Engineer/Administrator role with network administration.
• OT/ICS/SCADA experience in energy/renewables strongly preferred.
• Experience with NIST, ISO 27001, or SOC 2 frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain server, storage, and virtualized infrastructure (cloud and on‑prem).
• Own identity and access management end‑to‑end (onboarding/offboarding, MFA, privilege access, backups, audit logs).
• Administer security tools: EDR, SIEM, MDM; support audit readiness and incident response.
• Provide Tier 1–3 support for Windows, macOS, Linux, virtualization, and cloud diensten.
• Manage Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Azure services; implement cloud backup/DR.
• Design and maintain IT/OT network connectivity, VPNs, and remote access paths.
• Support OT hardware (SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, meters) and field devices; assist with patching.
