Job summary

Discord in San Francisco is hiring an IT Ops Engineer who owns networking end-to-end, blending IT operations with hands-on network tasks. You will manage office and remote connectivity, including VPN, Zero Trust, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and monitoring, with a focus on outcomes rather than tickets.

You will automate, monitor, and improve workflows, partner with MSPs, and support the day-to-day IT queue. This role requires 5+ years in tech IT operations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on networking across wireless, LAN, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, VPN, and Zero Trust.
• Experience with identity, endpoint management, and SaaS tools to support a queue.
• Automation and scripting to reduce manual work and improve operations.

Responsibilities

• Own office and remote network as a reliable, monitored system (wireless, wired LAN, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, VPN, Zero Trust).
• Run network monitoring and manage config with automation and version control where available.
• Own networking MSP relationship; ensure deliverables land in documentation and are operable.
• Handle IT support queue with teammates and contribute to workflows beyond individual tickets.
• Identify recurring issues, automate them, and measure time and risk savings.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
