Job summary

FDNY is seeking a full-time Computer Associate (Operations) in the Bureau of Enterprise Technology to maintain and support critical systems such as FireCAD and EMSCAD. You will work across BTDS with FDNY personnel, performing operational tasks, issue detection, and escalation as needed.

The role emphasizes hands-on desktop and end-user support, logging activities, and developing data-tracking templates to improve processes.

Qualifications

Certification in computer operations and 2 years of related experience in large-scale networks or mainframes.
Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience.
High school diploma with 4 years of relevant experience or an approved education/experience mix.

Responsibilities

Interface with FDNY personnel at all levels and collaborate with BTDS teams.
Initiate and perform scheduled tasks to maintain FireCAD/EMSCAD and critical systems.
Monitor primary and backup hardware, software, printers, and apps; resolve issues.
Escalate unresolved issues per established procedures.
Maintain logs and documentation of support activities, incidents, and resolutions.
Develop and manage templates and logs for data tracking and process improvement.
Serve as the IT call contact for user requests and system updates.
Provide hands-on support for desktop apps and end-user hardware.
