Job summary

Zanders Sporting Goods, a family-owned wholesale distributor with over 60 years in business, seeks an experienced IT Manager to lead our information technology operations. You will plan, direct, and oversee IT staff, systems, infrastructure, and security to align with business objectives.

Responsibilities include policy development, budget management, vendor relations, system upgrades, disaster recovery, and compliance with Illinois laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive IT experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, systems administration, and cybersecurity.
• Experience managing IT budgets and vendor relationships.
• Proven leadership and people-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily IT operations including help desk, systems, and infrastructure.
• Supervise, train, evaluate, and discipline IT staff per policy.
• Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and standards.
• Plan, deploy, and maintain hardware, software, networks, and security systems.
• Ensure data security, backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
• Manage IT vendors, service providers, contracts, and licensing.
• Develop the IT budget and forecast costs.
• Lead IT projects such as upgrades and implementations.
• Monitor system performance and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with leadership to align IT strategy with goals.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state/local laws including Illinois.
• Respond to escalated IT issues and provide hands-on support.
