Job summary

The City of Kissimmee is seeking an IT Specialist to work on and troubleshoot computer systems and related peripherals, ensuring reliable operation to support city tasks.

Responsibilities include managing AD accounts, vendor coordination, inventory updates, and providing timely user support. Extensive hardware/software diagnostics and public safety standby duties are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate’s Degree in computer technology / network technology or equivalent experience.
• Prefers CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications, FEMA ICS certifications, HDI certification, Windows/Office training.
• Must possess valid Florida driver's license and pass fingerprint-based background check.
• Must obtain FEMA ICS certifications within 6 months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Manages Active Directory domain user and computer accounts.
• Calls vendors for software/hardware support; performs network backup and troubleshooting; provides onsite tech support.
• Provides phone-based and on-site IT support; documents help desk calls and remedies.
• Sets up new computers and delivers them; analyzes hardware/software problems to determine solutions.
• Sets up PDA/Phone equipment to connect with network; updates inventory; provides hardware/software training.
• Performs 24/7 standby support for critical Public Safety services.
• Diagnoses wireless equipment and maintains computer hardware and software.
