Job summary

ChipAgents is seeking an IT Operations Lead in San Jose to own our internal tools, devices, onboarding/offboarding, and office networks. You will be the primary contact for employee technology issues and will build processes and automation to prevent recurring problems as the company grows.

This hands-on role emphasizes security, reliability, and minimal administrative overhead, with collaboration alongside engineering on internal infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Experience independently managing IT operations and employee technology support in a growing organization.
• Hands-on experience administering business applications, user accounts, identity systems, and devices.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, OS, applications, and networking.
• Familiarity with device management platforms and endpoint security.
• Knowledge of office networking (Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
• Productivity-first IT approach avoiding unnecessary approvals and restrictions.
• Ability to balance security, reliability, and development speed with minimal disruption.

Responsibilities

• Administer business applications, accounts, permissions, and software licenses.
• Own onboarding/offboarding, equipment provisioning, and access setup for new hires and departures.
• Manage lifecycle of laptops, workstations, and peripherals with accurate inventory.
• Be the go-to for hardware, software, accounts, and connectivity issues and coordinate with vendors/engineering as needed.
• Configure and maintain office Wi‑Fi, wired networks, and meeting-room tech; troubleshoot connectivity.
• Maintain security and reliability through sensible defaults, automation, and low-friction maintenance.
• Automate repetitive administration and document fixes; create self-service resources.
• Support engineering-led internal infrastructure work through provisioning and troubleshooting.
