Job summary

Humboldt County Memorial Hospital is seeking an IT Director to lead information technology and communications across the organization. You will partner with WIN Technology to provide 24/7 support, manage budgets, and guide security, projects, and staff development.

You will coordinate technology upgrades, incident response, and disaster recovery while ensuring HIPAA compliance and effective collaboration with hospital leadership and departments.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s preferred in IT/CS/BI or related field
• CompTIA A+ certification preferred; ITIL familiarity appreciated
• Three+ years in information technology or related role, hospital setting preferred
• Two+ years of staff, project, or resource management experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA, healthcare regulations, and privacy/security requirements
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop IT staff and cross‑functional teams

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for IT and communications functions across the hospital
• Liaise with WIN Technology to ensure 24/7 support and infrastructure reliability
• Coordinate technology projects, upgrades, and system implementations with departments
• Oversee day-to-day IT support and connect users with external vendors as needed
• Manage IT budgets, contracts, and asset inventories
• Coordinate cybersecurity and information security efforts with partners
• Ensure HIPAA security compliance and response planning
• Plan for business continuity, downtime, and disaster recovery
• Communicate outages, changes, and issues to leadership and staff
• Support governance, documentation, and policy enforcement
