Job summary

The City of Roanoke is seeking an IT Manager to oversee and direct the day-to-day activities of Information Technology services areas.

The successful applicant will provide analysis, planning, and technical leadership of complex information technology initiatives; implement strategies for IT operations, ensure efficient working of all IT staff and ensures compliance to all deadlines and service level agreements; and provide budget input and serves as a member of the IT management team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or closely related field; five to ten years of progressively responsible experience direct related to IT service area; at least two years of lead or supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technology services area including personnel, performance evaluations, hiring, work assignments and schedules.
• Develops and provides tactical and operational plans for section in alignment with the IT strategy.
