Job summary

Schmidt Electric Company, an SEC affiliate, seeks an IT Manager in Austin, TX to oversee wiring of IT systems and security for field and office operations. You will lead a team, align technology with business goals, and manage vendor partnerships for reliable, scalable infrastructure.

The role focuses on systems deployment, security, and compliance within a growing electrical contracting environment. Strong communication with stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• BSc/BA in Computer Engineering/Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in an IT management role.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory & current Windows OS.
• Experience with Office 365.
• Knowledge of mobile device management.
• Experience with backup solutions.
• Knowledge of VMware and/or Hyper-V environments.
• Experience with Trimble Construction ERP or similar platforms.
• Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement and coordinate IT systems deployments.
• Develop and implement IT policies and procedures.
• Strategic IT resource planning and forecasting.
• Monitor systems to reduce downtime and optimize performance.
• Procurement of hardware with cost efficiency.
• Test, manage, and approve software updates.
• Collaborate with EMCOR resources and IT teams.
• Develop onboarding computer documentation (Windows 11, mobile guides).
