Job summary

Western Alliance Bancorporation is seeking an IT Manager III within Enterprise Application Services in Phoenix to lead the Common Services teams and oversee mission-critical applications.

You'll drive complex projects, deliver on security and architecture standards, coordinate cross-functional work, and mentor engineers while maintaining high delivery velocity in a fast-paced banking environment. You may travel up to 25% as required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of related IT experience in IT--App Support, IT--Development, IT--Networking or similar field.
• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• Previous leadership experience required.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Intermediate to advanced experience in managing technology teams within a specific functional area while ensuring highest quality delivery of complex products or services.
• Intermediate to advanced experience with execution KPIs and timelines with data-driven reporting.
• Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
• May require up to 25% travel.

Responsibilities

• Drive execution of project deliverables by establishing milestones, timelines, dependencies, and cross-functional alignment.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, ensuring adherence to standards, security requirements, and enterprise architecture principles.
• Foster collaboration between business and technology teams to deliver measurable business value.
• Serve as the technology owner for foundational banking services supporting mission-critical money movement processes.
• Lead and coordinate complex production deployments, release activities, and cutover implementations.
• Ensure operational excellence through governance, resiliency testing, disaster recovery readiness, and continuous improvement.
• Promote continuous improvement and automation by mentoring team members and driving best engineering practices.
