Job summary

Adient is seeking an IT Intern to support the Infrastructure Services team across hosting, network, field services, ITSM, conference room technology, and end-user device support. You will document processes, analyze data, and coordinate projects while learning endpoint management, SCCM, and threat and vulnerability practices.

The internship runs on-site for 12 weeks, 40 hours per week, from May 3 to August 12, 2027, providing hands-on experience with enterprise IT operations and cross-functional

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a four-year undergrad or graduate degree in IT or CS.
• Available to work up to 40 hours per week.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong Microsoft skills: Excel, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive.
• Interest in infrastructure services, SCCM, ITSM, and security hygiene.
• Ability to work with technical teams and business users in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and coordinate IT projects and processes.

Responsibilities

• Document infrastructure services processes, knowledge articles, inventories, standards, and support procedures.
• Gather, analyze, and report data to improve visibility into service performance and project status.
• Assist with server, network, and documentation projects and site readiness activities.
• Support end-user endpoint device tracking and lifecycle data, printer info, and site needs.
• Assist SCCM-related activities: inventory validation, deployments, patching, and reporting.
• Help maintain ITSM incident, request, change, and knowledge content for better service delivery.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders on daily IT operations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The IT Intern is responsible for supporting the Infrastructure Services team across core IT service areas including hosting, network, field services, IT service management (ITSM), conference room technology,end-user support, and endpoint device support.This role will assist with documentation, data analysis, process improvement, project coordination, operational support activities, and awareness of endpoint management, SCCM, and threat and vulnerability processes.

Summer Interns work onsite 40 hours per week (full-time), with a targeted start date of May 3, 2027 through August 12, 2027.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with documenting infrastructure services processes, knowledge articles, inventories, standards, and support procedures across hosting, network, field services, ITSM, and conference room technology.




• Support data gathering, analysis, and reporting using Microsoft Excel, SharePoint Lists, PowerPoint, Teams, and OneDrive to improve visibility into service performance, project status, and operational activities.




• Assist with infrastructure-related projects including server and hosting documentation, network device inventories, site readiness activities, hardware refresh planning, and operational process improvements.




• Support field servicesand end-user endpoint deviceactivities by helping tracklaptops, desktops, mobile devices, peripherals, site support needs, device lifecycle data,printer information,and follow-up actions with support teams.




• Assist with endpoint management and SCCM-related support activities, including inventory validation, software deployment tracking, patching coordination, reporting, and documentation under the guidance of infrastructure and endpoint support teams.




• Develop awareness of threat and vulnerability management practices by supporting documentation, tracking, reporting, remediation follow-up, and coordination activities related to endpoint and infrastructure security hygiene.




• Assist with ITSM process support, including organizing incident, request, change, problem, knowledge, and service catalog information to improve process quality and service delivery.




• Help maintain conference room support documentation, equipment inventories, troubleshooting guides, and service coordination notes for standard and executive meeting spaces.




• Collaborate with internal customers, infrastructure engineers, network teams, field services technicians, service desk teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to support day-to-day operational needs.

Qualifications:

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and working towards a four-year undergraduate degree or graduate degree in Information Technology or Computer Science




• Available to work up to 40 hours per week




• Minimum overall GPA of at least 3.0.




• Strong Microsoft skills, including Excel, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneDrive; experience with SharePoint Lists, basic reporting, or Power Automate is a plus.




• Interest in infrastructure services, including hosting, network, workplace technology, field support,endpoint device support, SCCM,ITSM, service desk operations, conference room support, and threat and vulnerability awareness.




• Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, and communication skills with the ability to convert technical information into clear, usable content.




• Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams, business users, vendors, and support groups in a fast-paced environment.




• Project coordination skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn infrastructure operations and IT service management processes.
