Job summary

Clera is seeking its first Director of IT to build and lead IT operations across a holding company and its portfolio. You will collaborate with a fractional senior IT and security advisor and a managed service provider to create shared processes while accommodating each portfolio company's needs.

You will lead acquisition IT work from due diligence through post-close integration, own the identity platform, and manage a cross-portfolio data platform with security and scalability in mind.

Qualifications

• Six to ten years of hands-on experience in IT operations, systems administration, or consulting delivery with at least three years in IT leadership.
• Experience supporting multiple companies or clients and owning acquisition IT work from due diligence through post-close integration.
• Strong identity and access management skills with platforms such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, or JumpCloud.
• Experience with vendor and license management, contract negotiation, and service-level oversight.
• Able to map undocumented environments, develop playbooks, and work with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience in portfolio or holding company operations and Google Workspace / Microsoft 365 administration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the IT workstream for acquisitions, including inventory, access mapping, and system integration.
• Build and run a Day 1 to 100 acquisition integration playbook across an active portfolio.
• Design joiner, mover, and leaver workflows, including complete employee offboarding.
• Own the identity platform after its selection and rollout, including SSO, provisioning, and lifecycle workflows.
• Maintain inventory of tools, accounts, credentials, licenses, and renewal dates to support decisions.
• Manage MSP performance, SLAs, vendor contracts, renewals, and license consolidation.
• Build backend connections that support a cross-portfolio data platform.
