Job summary

EPMA in Houston seeks an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager to lead our client's infrastructure team, overseeing enterprise IT systems, networking, security, and infrastructure operations across locations. The ideal candidate is a strong people manager with hands-on expertise in Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365.

You will mentor staff, improve reliability, and ensure uptime and security of critical IT services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience.
• 3+ years of direct leadership experience.
• Hands-on Windows Server and VMware experience.
• Experience with AD, Entra ID and M365.
• Experience with enterprise storage, backup and DR.
• Experience with enterprise networking (VLANs, IP, routing, VPN).
• Experience ITIL practices and incident/change management.
• Experience with scripting/automation for infrastructure.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on IT Infrastructure Manager to lead and develop our client's infrastructure team while overseeing enterprise IT systems, networking, security, and infrastructure operations across multiple locations.

The ideal candidate will be a strong people manager with solid technical expertise across both systems administration and enterprise networking. This individual will be responsible for mentoring Infrastructure Administrators, improving infrastructure reliability, strengthening networking capabilities, and ensuring the performance, security, and availability of critical IT systems.

Location: Houston Westchase, TX - Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure engineering, administration, or operations.
• 3+ years of direct leadership experience managing Infrastructure Administrators, Systems Engineers, Network Engineers, or IT Infrastructure teams.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, coach, and develop technical infrastructure professionals.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Windows Server administration and VMware virtualization.
• Solid experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft 365.
• Strong understanding of enterprise storage, backup solutions, and disaster recovery.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise networking, including:

VLAN design and configuration.

IP addressing schemes and subnetting.

Routing and switching.

Enterprise firewall administration.

VPN and remote access technologies.

• Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues across both systems and networking environments.
• Experience managing infrastructure across multiple office locations.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices, including incident, problem, and change management.
• Experience implementing infrastructure security controls and supporting compliance requirements.
• Experience with scripting or automation for infrastructure administration.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
