Job summary

S&C Electric seeks an Assistant Manager, Information Technology to lead the Platform & Infrastructure team, overseeing on-premises and cloud infrastructure across servers, storage, virtualization, networking, and security.

You will translate business IT priorities into stable, scalable services, develop teams, and collaborate with cybersecurity, vendors, and stakeholders to drive improvements and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
5+ years of experience supporting enterprise IT environments and leading complex technical initiatives.
Minimum 1 year of leadership experience, including leading people, projects, workstreams, or technical initiatives.
Broad knowledge of enterprise infrastructure operations, including servers, virtualization, storage, backup and recovery, monitoring, networks, cloud platforms, and data center services.
Ability to lead technical teams, assign priorities, coach team members, manage escalations, and build accountability in a service-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Lead daily operations for the Platform & Infrastructure team, ensuring enterprise infrastructure services remain reliable, secure, performant, and aligned with business needs.
Manage the design, administration, maintenance, and lifecycle of servers, virtualization platforms, storage, backup, monitoring, cloud resources, and related infrastructure services.
Develop standards, operating procedures, service health measures, and documentation to improve consistency, resilience, supportability, and audit readiness.
Lead infrastructure incident response, root cause analysis, problem management, and corrective actions to reduce recurring issues and business disruption.
Plan and execute infrastructure projects, upgrades, migrations, patching, capacity improvements, and modernization initiatives across global or multi-site environments.
Ensure infrastructure work follows change management, cybersecurity, access control, backup, disaster recovery, and compliance requirements.
Coach, develop, and assign work to team members; set priorities, remove barriers, and support performance, accountability, and career growth.
Partner with cybersecurity, workplace enablement, applications, service desk, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver integrated technology solutions.
