Job summary

Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA) in Carrboro, North Carolina seeks an Infrastructure Administrator to lead the design, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of our IT infrastructure. You will manage Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms, and network gear while coordinating with security and operations teams to ensure reliable service across critical systems.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in IT/CS or related field and at least four years of relevant experience, plus

Qualifications

• 4 years’ experience as Infrastructure Administrator or similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, or related field, or equivalent.
• Experience configuring Windows and Linux servers and networking equipment.
• Familiarity with Azure and hybrid infrastructure setups.
• Strong security practices knowledge.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Certifications such as Network+, Security+ are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot to ensure availability.
• Collaborate with security team to implement robust security measures.
• Establish and maintain data backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Analyze capacity and performance trends and recommend upgrades.
• Maintain accurate documentation of configurations and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT support, development, and operations teams.
