Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners LLC in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a Systems Support Specialist for an onsite, six-month contract. You will provide first-level IT support, install and configure PCs, printers, and peripherals, and manage ticketing system entries to meet deadlines.

The role may require on-call shifts and weekend work as needed. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years' experience with Windows, Office 365, and Active Directory, plus strong customer service and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years' experience installing, configuring and resolving PC issues.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Windows, Office 365 and Active Directory.
• Familiar with ticketing systems and basic scripting (PowerShell).

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level IT support for internal and external customers.
• Set up and configure printers; monitor WAN.
• Enter work in the ticketing system and meet deadlines.
• Occasional on-call duty nights/weekends.
• Assist LAN/Server with research on PC products and tech info.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and performance standards.

In this contract role as a Systems Support Specialist, you'll work onsite in Birmingham with a team to manage the ticket cue, help with end of lease and answer incoming calls.

Contract Duration: 6 months +

Required Skills & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent, college degreepreferred.
• 2-4 years' experienceinstalling, configuring and resolving complex PC support issues
• Should possess strong customer service skills and good verbal communicationsskills.
• Should possessstrong working knowledge of Microsoft Officeapplications, Windows,O365 and Active Directory.
• Should possess good analytical/trouble shootingskills.
• Previous ticketing system experience is nice to have.
• Should have A+ certification and possess good writtenskills.
• Scripting or automation of processes/ideally PowerShell

What You Will Be Doing

Daily Responsibilities

• Provide first-level support and problem resolution for internal and external customers; point of contact for system related problems; setup and configure branch and desktop printers; monitor the wide area network.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Must complete time critical assignments on time to meet company goals and customerdeadlines.
• Understands potential to be required to be on-call on nights or weekends or work weekend and night shifts
• Must enter all work into ticketing system
• Must comply with all policy and procedures of the company
• Complete assigned tasks as assigned by the System Support Manager
• Install and configure replacement PCs andperipherals.
• Perform physical duties related to PC deployments and repair (crawling under desks, packing/unpacking PCs, shipping of hardware)
• Providesupport for PCs, printers, scanners, aircards and PDAdevices.
• Assist the LAN/Server department with research and evaluation on a wide range of current and new PC products and technicalinformation.
• Perform on-sight technical PC support for corporatepersonnel.
• Ensures compliance with company'sPerformance Standards, with proper recognition of investment for long-termgrowth.
• Recommendproducts as required and in accordance withpolices.
