Job summary

J. Benton Construction, LLC is seeking an Information Technology Intern for Spring 2027. This role provides hands-on support to users across the company and will function as a Helpdesk Technician while gaining exposure to IT operations in a fast-paced construction environment.

You will visit office and jobsite locations, assist with device provisioning, inventory, and IT security processes, and develop independent troubleshooting and ticket management skills by the internship's end.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computing Systems, Computer Systems Analysis, or related field.
• Previous work experience required; IT experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, IT infrastructure, and networking concepts.
• Familiarity with Active Directory and IT ticketing systems preferred.
• Commitment to confidentiality and IT security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Helpdesk Technician, supporting users with technical issues and IT requests.
• After onboarding, manage approximately 5–10% of weekly IT tickets, with appropriate escalation as needed.
• Provide responsive, professional customer service and technical support.
• Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Assist with hardware/software setup, maintenance, and Autopilot device provisioning.
• Visit office and jobsite locations to provide IT support and gain field experience.
• Assist with IT equipment inventory across USVI locations.
• Document issues and resolutions and support IT security and operational processes.
• Develop the ability to independently troubleshoot, provision devices, manage tickets, and escalate incidents by the end of the internship.
