Job summary

Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago is seeking an IT Field Technician to support desktop, laptop, telecom, and Retail POS systems across locations in Wisconsin and Illinois. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, customer follow-up, and escalating work orders for timely resolution.

The role involves hardware/software installations, on-site support, and coordinating with vendors to ensure reliable IT services for Goodwill locations.

Qualifications

• Two years of college education or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 3 years in depth knowledge and troubleshooting PC and Server hardware, operating systems and applications.
• Experience with Windows Desktop OS (Windows 7/8.1/10) and Windows Server OS (2008/2012 R2/2016).
• Experience with switches, routers, and network firewalls.
• Ability to self-manage in a fast-paced environment; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain IT equipment including registers, laptops, POS systems, servers and IP phones.
• Coordinate installation and configuration of hardware at new locations; liaise with vendors.
• Provide on-call technical support after business hours; travel to various locations as required.
