Job summary

Judicial Department is seeking an IT Field Technician I to support desktops and laptops, VOIP desk-sets, and LAN/WAN networks across Maine courthouses. The role includes imaging and deployment, software provisioning, and remote access, plus support for audiovisual and videoconferencing systems.

The candidate will learn to work independently, handle help-desk tickets, and travel statewide. An associate degree or certs are required, with 1–3 years of enterprise IT experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technology certification required.
• 1–3 years IT support in an office enterprise environment; multi‑platform experience is a plus.
• Experience with videoconferencing equipment and audiovisual equipment is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for desktops and laptops, VOIP desk-sets, and TCP/IP LAN/WAN networks.
• Administer imaging, deployment, software provisioning, troubleshooting, and remote access; manage client software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• Handle secure equipment retirement.
• Support audiovisual equipment and videoconference systems.
• Participate in development of Judicial Branch technical plans and coordinate with OIT and other agencies.
• Install new equipment and repair or replace old equipment in Judicial Branch facilities statewide.
• Ensure information systems operate securely and reliably; maintain hardware inventory data.
• Maintain relationships with multiple technical vendors; draft and document procedures; assist with help-desk tickets and IT training.
• Support and/or learn various computing platforms (Windows, macOS, Google, Unix, Android, iOS); assist on large-scale OIT projects; support MJB events.
