Job summary

VC3 seeks an onsite Service Technician to install and configure computer hardware, software, and peripherals at client sites in the Grand Rapids area. You will troubleshoot workstation issues and resolve connectivity problems, including VPN, RDS, and Citrix, while educating clients on best practices.

You must have 2 years of relevant technical experience or 1 year in VC3 roles, with Windows 10/11 and Office 365 expertise, and pass CJIS background checks.

Qualifications

2 years of relevant technical experience OR 1 year in Service Technician I or II roles at VC3.
2 years of experience managing Windows Client Operating Systems 10 and 11.
2 years of experience managing Microsoft/Office 365.
2 years of experience with virus and security systems.
2 years of experience with TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.
CJIS background checks and post-employment requirements.

Responsibilities

Drive to client sites as scheduled and communicate delays to the Service Coordinator.
Install and configure computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
Troubleshoot onsite workstation and printer issues.
Provide onsite support for connectivity issues involving ISPs, wireless networks, DHCP, DNS, VPN, RDS, and Citrix.
Educate clients on technical standards and best practices.
Identify recurring issues and initiate problem tickets.
Record complete troubleshooting notes and maintain real-time timesheets.
Provide hands-on support at client sites across hardware, software, and networks.
Ensure timely issue resolution and consistent client communication.

Install and configure computer hardware, software, and peripherals
Troubleshoot and resolve onsite workstation and printer issues
Provide onsite support for connectivity issues involving ISPs, wireless networks, DHCP, DNS, VPN, RDS, and Citrix
Educate and guide clients on technical standards and best practices
Identify recurring issues and initiate problem tickets
Recommend improvements to supported hardware and software
Maintain accurate real-time timesheets
Record complete and accurate troubleshooting and client communication notes
Perform additional duties as assigned
Provide hands-on support at client sites across hardware, software, and networks
Ensure timely technical issue resolution and consistent client communication
Follow the VC3 Way standards and processes

Requirements

Full-time access to a vehicle
Valid driver's license with no driving restrictions
Business class insurance for the vehicle if residing in Canada
2 years of relevant technical experience OR 1 year of experience in Service Technician I or II roles at VC3

Must meet Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) requirements post-employment
