Job summary

Hexmodal is seeking its first IT & Facilities Manager to own the day-to-day IT infrastructure, help desk, and office operations from the NYC office. You’ll build processes, vendor relationships, and systems needed for scaling the function across the company.

The role reports to Head of People and requires 4+ years in IT support or facilities management, with a focus on service, security, and cost efficiency. Expect a hands-on, multi-location impact as the company grows.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in IT support/systems administration and/or facilities/office management.
• Hands-on technical proficiency: hardware/software troubleshooting, device management (Mac & Windows), networking basics, and SaaS/IT admin tools.
• Proven experience managing office operations, vendor relationships and facilities-related projects.
• Strong vendor management and negotiation skills; able to evaluate contracts and drive cost efficiency.
• Excellent prioritization and project management skills; able to balance reactive support with longer-term projects.
• A service-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills; communicates clearly with non-technical staff.
• Budget management experience and ability to track spend for IT and facilities.
• BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain IT infrastructure including hardware, software, networks, and SaaS tools.
• Run day-to-day IT helpdesk support and develop self-serve resources.
• Manage lifecycle of company equipment: procurement, provisioning, onboarding/offboarding, asset tracking, repairs.
• Own facilities operations: maintenance, safety, space planning, vendor coordination.
• Source, negotiate, and manage vendor and supplier relationships for IT and facilities.
• Partner with People and Engineering to enforce IT security best practices.
• Own budget planning for IT and facilities spend and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop business continuity and disaster recovery plans for IT and workspace.
• Plan and execute office moves or expansions as the company grows.
