Job summary

Case Western Reserve University seeks an IT Engineer 1 Lead to manage campus servers and systems, ensuring reliable services and adherence to best practices. You will coordinate with IT colleagues to deploy unified solutions across schools and units, applying monitoring, security, and disaster recovery measures.

The role requires strong Troubleshooting, Active Directory, Group Policy, and virtualization skills, with familiarity in cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and endpoint management.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or relevant certification with 1 year of IT experience OR high school diploma with 5 years of experience.
• Valid Ohio driver's license with a good driving record.
• Experience troubleshooting Windows server/workstation hardware, software, and network issues.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain Windows servers and systems; act as campus-wide expert for university-wide systems.
• Perform administration, policy development, and documentation; align with campus/division strategic plans; mitigate risks.
• Maintain system security and compliance; implement disaster recovery, backups, patch management and intrusion detection.
• Ensure high customer service levels; monitor queues and coordinate critical service responses.
• Manage applications and services (Microsoft 365, ITSM, inventory); monitor and secure endpoints; involve virtualization technologies (Citrix, VMware, Hyper-V, cloud).
